GUYS:Is football hard to play?

I'm a girl and I was thinking about playing football and I was wonderin if it would be hard for a girl to play with the big boys(lol)???!!

Not so hard if you know how to play it, I'm glad to see that a chick wants to get down and dirty with the big dogs. I respect a girl who lays hits like a guy, but then comes out of the locker room, and still be a lady, that's AWESOME!!!

You need to be smart first, you can't just go out and run, or throw. If you're running, you need to see the open holes for you, read the defense an see what they are going to do, blitz or cover, that's the QB's job though. Running Back follows blocks and makes a big run for it. If you like defense then just tackle as hard as you can use technique and form, there are a few girls that are as tough as a guy is, and if you're tough, you can play with the big guys. Are you a good kicker also? There are may girls that can kick as well or even better than a guy, I believe one of the colleges has a kicker, and the kickers a girl, she's good. Can't remember where though...that's besides the point.

Don't let the guys talk you out of it, you need to be tough and take a hit and not whine every time you get touched. Keep your head up and fight to win, and win to fight. You can do it, and don't let any bring yourself down. There are girls football teams too I believe, if you love football go with them too, football's really fun and is the best sport ever. No discrimination please, if a small 5'10, 180 pound Ted Jr. can play football, I'm sure a girl can too, so keep y'all's mouth shut about girls no being able to play football.

Also, if you happen to try out, go for the Dallas Diamonds or the Houston Energy. They both have won the WPFL(Woman's Professional Football League) Championship THREE times, both are from Texas, and Texas knows football ;) Here's a list of the championships.

I wouldn't say that Americans hate soccer. After all, there are lots of soccer camps in America. But I think what you mean is that why do Americans not watch soccer. Well, it's kind of complicated, but here's the story. In soccer, there are no commercials until halftime. The media HATES that because they can't make their money from advertisements on soccer games. The advertisements in soccer are on the wall around the pitch and advertisements in American sports (like football) are thrown in every time they can get. There's several commercial breaks in American football. I've actually calculated it and I discovered that it takes 3 hrs. (yes, 3 hrs.) to play 1 hr. of football. RIDICULOUS! I was so annoyed with commercials every time it changed possessions. But in soccer commercials are awesome because they only happen at the half. So, in a nutshell, the media hates soccer, not Americans.

Yes football is a hard sport. Anyone can play it but to be good enough to compete is the question. I would say if your interested talk to some of the players on the team. Ask the coaches questions to. We had a girl play for us a few years back and she had the best work ethic on the team. She wasn't affraid to mix it up even with some of the bigger guys. She saw alot of J.V. time at WR, and Corner Back, and had 4 tackles in a Varsity game she got into. I say go for it.

OK FOOTBALL IS A VERY PHYSICAL SPORT AND IF YOU WANT TO PLAY WITH "THE BIG BOYS" THEN BE PREPARED TO TAKE A HIT THESE GUYS DON'T FEEL THAT A GIRL SHOULD PLAY FOOTBALL WITH THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR OWN INSECURITIES. SO MOST OF THEM WILL PROBABLY HAVE A GRUDGE FOR YOU INVADING ON WHAT MOST CONSIDER A MAN SPORT.MY SUGGESTION WILL BE THE SAME ONE THAT I GAVE MY SISTER WHEN SHE TRIED OUT FOR OUR TEAM IN HIGH SCHOOL THE BEST WAY TO EARN THE TEAMS RESPECT IS TO GO OUT ON TRHE FIELD AND LAY OUT THE BIGGEST M'FER OUT THERE . THEN THEY WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THE GAME AND NOT TRYING TOJUST MAKE A FEM STINK.

I think you should start off playing flag football, I'm a boy and I'm too small to play tackle. if you are big you should play tackle. to play tackle you have to be BIG or have SPEED.if you can catch you will be a good wide receiver.if you are strong maybe you can block.but if you are not good at football be a chair leader. good luck.

Naw. Come on out and join in the fun. Just remember when you get hit there probably hitting with a little extra. Remember you have entered Our world. But if you take a good hit and get up you will earn respect.

It's kinda hard at first if you dont get how to play but you just have to ask someone to help u and they will and after that it will get easier

depends what level of competition

basic skills........ you may be fine. there are pro football womens leagues. it wont be easy but it isnt impossible or life threatening to try it.
