This is my first time even hearing of the band, let alone the movie Tenacious D Pick of Destiny. I'm wondering how in the world I missed this movie? I never even saw previews. Anyway, I always did wonder if Jack Black was a real musician/singer or if he just liked to play them in his movies. Is Tenacious D his real band? By the way, is the movie any good?

Yes a real band. They have been a band since the 90's. Both were in Jack and Kyle were in The Actor's Gang and met in Scotland. The are called a "novelty band" but are actually quite good.

I never saw that movie but Tenacious D is really a sweet band, I have their CD and it rocks.

They're a real band - first heard them about 5 years ago at a tattoo parlor. Their lyrics can get pretty raunchy, so if you're easily offended, be warned.

only liked like 4 scenes: the beginning when he was a jb was a child the story about the pick the part where he uses his cock to shut the alarm off the showdown between them and the devil overall i thought it was pretty good
