Wow, you can only spend $1,000? Poor you. Can your parents ground me so I can spend $1,000 at the mall? I see a lot of cute things when I go shopping too.

Well, first of all, don't go to the stores as much as you do, that will help keep you from spending money on things you see. Find other things to do with your friends, there must be other things than hanging out at the mall. If you know you have a limit and your parents are going to kill you if you go over it, keep yourself away from temptation. You say you are going to Paris soon and expect to buy more, then you should be saving your money. Just remember that you won't be getting the deals that you expect. With the dollar at it's lowest in years against the Euro, you aren't going to get deals. Whereas once the dollar and the Euro were worth about the same and when you bought something you really got a deal, now you are losing the difference in the exchange rate and the cost of everything is coming out to be about the same as if you were buying it here, so don't expect to get as much as you once would have. Think about getting things over there that you couldn't get at home. But, be careful with your money.

Don't go to the mall... Go to TJ Maxx and find great deals on cool clothing like Free people, CC California and Abercrombie. Or when you go into a store, go to the back first and look at the clearance. Think about if you have clothes that you will really wear later. Don't just buy clothes if they're cute, see if they fit good, they're a reasonable price and they fit your style.

Also just bring a debit card so you can only spend what you have (Or cash).

well since u have a limit of $1000. maybe u can compromise with ur parents and not shop 4 the next 3 months, assuming it was a $1000. a month limit they set 4 you, that seems fair plus you would be showing maturity by practicing restraint 4 those months,y probably bought enough stuff 2 last u till ur next time 2 shop, they might even feel bad 4 you and take u out shopping for being a good sport!

um wow... u really need to control ur spending.... when considering buying something, ask yourself: when am i going to wear this? how often will i wear this? will it be worth the money i spent? another helpful thing might be to set price limits for yourself, such as: (these are just example price settings, you can create your own price limits)

shirt: no more than $20
pants: no more than $30
handbag: no more than $50
shoes: no more than $60

and like i said u don't have to use these price limits, you can make your own. and also you could set a maximum number of each item that you will buy during that particular shopping trip. for example:

shirts: 3 max.
pants: 4 max.
shoes: 2 max.
handbags: 1 max.

make all limits mentioned before you get to the shopping center. good luck!

Honey, I grew up poor - I know everything about saving money.
BEST ways to not spend, in order of effectiveness :
1] don't go shopping
2] only bring cash or a card with that amount on it
3] make a list of what you need; if you can't make a list, you don't need anything.
Why are you shopping if you are grounded? I would make you return everything! Give away some clothes to charity and do some community service.

It doesn't sound like you have much discipline or self control. You probably shouldn't be shopping at all as a result. Maybe lessen the days so when you do go shopping 4G's won't be so heavy if you hadn't gone shopping for a month (depending how often you spend these kinds of figures). Learn from this.

Shopping can be addictive......It can kinda give you a rush.
Then you get home and you realize you should not have spent so much.
Save yourself from future deeper trouble.
Go back tomorrow morning and return items. Tell the merchant they did not work for you........
Be strong..........
Regain your own self strength and self esteem.
Do not go to mall so often, meet friends at the movies or out at someone else house or a restaurant.

try not shopping. If you just bought 4 grand in clothes then you shouldnt go shopping for like 5 years. And someone who cant limit their spending should NOT have a credit card

Obviously you come from an affluent family, BUT if you want to cut back go to garage sales, estate sales, craigslist, or raid your friend's clothing discards, and enjoy the $$$$$ for a trip to Greece or Rome.

Did you spend the money on a $1000.00 purse
and a $700.00 dress. Well, Yes, that can happen when you go to Neiman, Bloomies, or Saks.
