Because of the double standards in society. A man who sleeps around is a "Stud" implying a powerful position, and a woman that does the same is a "S**t" implying that she is dirty and unworthy.
Its just another way the inequality between the two is demonstrated. The real irony is that a man can't be a stud, unless there is the other to make him one!

it's just considered degrading
however in my opinion the only ones that ever call someone that are only jealous or they are not fortunate enough to get with the person they are calling a slut
u really shouldn't be offended by anything anyone says

it is the status quo, the double standard, that everpresent unwritten code that seems to be hardwired into every human civilization and culture.

Words can only hurt and insult if you let them. If you are comfortable with who you are and what you do, then you are ahead of the namecallers. I won't condone promiscuity as it could be the sign of issues or lead to issues later on. I will commend you for taking charge of yourself and not letting others define you.

da slu- word is someone who dress in clothes that show many nudity and someone who's se-ually active. but if dey call u dat, you're probably not, they might just be jealous.
