It doesn't make any sense. The Forever Stamp costs $0.41 just like the First Class Postage Stamps. They say it's good for forever, but then they say that when there is a price increase that the price of the Forever Stamp will also increase so then you'd have to buy new Forever Stamps. Does anyone understand this?

Ok so if the Forever Stamp sounds like the better deal, then why even offer the First Class stamps at all?

Say you buy a bunch of forever stamps, then the price goes up on stamps. Any of the stamps you still have will be good, and you don't have to add any penny stamps to make it the current rate.

So if you buy the $.41 forever stamp, and in the future the price of stamps goes up to $2 or $3, your $.41 stamps will still be good.
They will be good forever.

The idea is to stock up now before the price goes up again.

The forever stamp will be whatever first class postage is at the time, irregardless of what you actually paid for them when you purchased them . Unlike in the past where if you had a 27 cent stamp and the rates went up to 29 cents you had to add 2 one cent stamps to have the right postage. Now you only buy them once and they are good until you need stamps again when the rate may be higher.

The Forever Stamp can be used for Forever. Once you purchase it (the price would be determined at the time of purchase) you can use the stamp whenever you want. For example if you buy the stamp now for $.41 and you don't use it until 2010 when it cost $1.50 to mail a first class letter. That Forever stamp you bought for .41 can still be used to mail the letter in the future. The whole purpose of the stamp is for people to buy hundreds of them and stock up while they are at their cheapest.

Forever means just that. It'll work as long as you still have them; no matter what the price hike is.
