I agree with the nurse... more info is needed.

If it's mild, some good lotion should help. Vaseline works wonder as well. If it's more severe get your doctor to check it out.. they should be able to prescribe something that'd help..

Use Lubridern: Advanced Therapy for extra dry skin, Aveeno: Ultra Claming daily moisturizer, or Aquaphor: Original Ointment. They are all great and really help a lot. I use them all daily. For hands I would recommend Aquaphor, for face and body I would recommend Lubriderm, and for just face I would recommend Aveeno. Hope I helped!
