Bush has nothing to do with gas prices and the gas companies are all independent and Bush cannot tell them what to charge. Yes, gas is taxed but the companies control the cost and they do all they can to make sure they get as much money as possible. No new refineries built in 20 years. They do not care where prices go as long as they get there profits. They would even sabotage there own plants to make more.

Actually, I feel that the President should place a freeze on these gas prices personally, he has the means so why can't he proclaim this act? I bet he doesn't pay for these high prices. Go figure. Have a great day!

You don't make sense. About 50 cents goes to taxes. It depends on the states. California has to have a special more expensive brand due to air quality which also effects the price. There have been two refinery fires this week which may have effected the price as well.

Hmm, right here in Britain we've don't have the tax cuts to grease agencies, yet we've probable the main costly gas interior the international (US gallon is smaller than a uk gallon, yet I reckon the equivalent fee right that is approximately $7.60), so i assume we've the worst of the two worlds. yet Shell uk has merely introduced record income of £one million.2 million consistent with HOUR; effective artwork in case you may get it. The Bush tax cuts are there to advance the oil agencies' income as a thank you for helping him win power, to not help the standard American motorist. innovations you, if the fee of petrol interior the US DID circulate as much as $7.60 a gallon, human beings could end using ridiculously super engined autos and purchase something much less wasteful. that is shame that individuals there seem to think of that is uncool to force something with under 3 litres decrease than the bonnet, regardless of if it has the overall performance of a golf buggy.

The price per barrel of oil is actually lower than last year, but it is the supply of gasoline that is down, thanks to "Maintenance overruns" and "unexpected refinery shutdowns", which is just double speak for another record year of oil company profits.
