How do i block access to videos i download from my camcorder to my computer?

i want to edit a couple "mature" clips of my wife and i but dont want any one who might use my computer to stumble on to them...can i just simply put a password on the folder. Any advice would be helpfull.i only want these clips viewed by me.
i need detailed instruction cause im not to computer savy and dont want to miss a step

use RAR or ZIP and password protect the compressed file.
You'll save space too. Dont forget to use safe erase of some sort to wipe the movie file, and not just delete it. Files can be undeleted pretty easy with the right tools.
