No. Absolutely no. It's been proven time and time again that 93% of all animal experiments can be replicated in petri dishes. The cruelty in the practice of animal testing is wholly unjustified.

Yes.

It's good because as organisms they have more similarities to us than do bugs or trees. Therefore we can interpret the results for humans better.

The issue of animal rights comes up. Animals don't have rights. Rights belong to rational entities. To entities with a conceptual consciousness. Animals have a perceptual consciousness and cannot even grasp what a "right" means, or even what an "animal" means.

We have jails to protect rational people from the irrational. The irrational people are the ones who act like animals; i.e. thieves, rapists, murderers.

i did a report for this my sophmore year for biology and to basically sum it up...they do LOTS of painful things to LOTS of animals that is just down right evil, (like shoving things into their eyes and such)because the animals have no say or defense, but then you have to look at the other side..who will test new products for the country? I suggest that scientist put up flyers and and ask for human testers (cuz i know plenty of people, even homeless that would do it) and pay for their time.

Yes..and no. What's the point of testing on animals if they are not human. It's not really a sure-thing. No matter how close the DNA is, they are still not human. They should just use voulenteers.

Yes i do. Instead of testing harmful possible medacines on people who act as lab rats...why ot use rats? By using animal testing you are sabing lives that humnas would have to waste. If you mother was in the hospital and you elarned the new medicine they gave her didnt turn out right, and that if they had tested it before on something else it could have saved her...then arent you worse off?

Yes. The more we find out by testing animals the more knowledge we have. Remember, knowledge is power!

No. It is mean and the products they're testing are for people not animals. I'd be happy to volunteer to test beauty products.

I feel bad for the animals, but look at all the people AND ANIMALS that it has saved and will save. So ultimately, yes, it's good.

The question is too vague. Some testing is way too cruel but other testing is neccessary.
