Yes she did betray the U.S. POWs. That is one of the reasons her nickname is "Hanoi Jane". Here are some things that will show you how she betrayed our troops in Vietnam and even after the war

Jane Fonda during a trip to North Vietnam in 1972. She propagandized on behalf of the North Vietnamese Government. She declared that American POW'S were being treated humanely and condemned U.S. soldiers as war criminals and later denounced them as liars. It's all true and a lot of Vietnam Vets still hate her for it. Why wouldn't they? Hey she made a mistake but it was a big mistake! and just saying sorry doesn't make it right for the guys who were fighting and lost there lives. She was that era's Paris Hilton! We lost so many good men and she made a mistake. You can forgive her but a lot of Vietnam Vets can't and won't.

Jane Fonda is a chronic aginner, agin anything the establishment is for. The crowds she leads accomplishes nothing constructive, ties up expensive crowd control personnel, and are anarchistic. It would be a much more pleasant world to live in if all like her and Micheal Moore were put down.

Yes. There is a clear line between being against an unjust unwinnable war and joining the other side. She crossed it. Most Vietnam vets I know won't forgive her for crossing that line, any more than they will forgive Bush for lying our way into a first-strike war on a tarbaby. They're not too fonda texan presidents.

she truthfully did circulate the line and grew to alter right into a traitor. If a bugular is coming by using your window and additionally you shoot them, you ought to have self assurance that your life became in threat. If not, you ought to be charged with homicide. i've got self assurance she extra advantageous than surpassed the definition of treason. loose speech, first substitute rights are one difficulty, going over to the enemies cities, making recordings, and so forth. is something else. She is a maggot. She ought to have merely diminished away and attempt to appreciate what she did. No type.

She wasn't labeled 'Hanoi Jane' for nothing !!
Even her own Father wouldn't have anything to do
with her until they made the movie "Upon Golden
Ponds".
She's part of the reason many soldiers were treated
like scum upon returning 'home'. She's also part of the reason some of the military personnel were killed over
there...talking them into laying down their weapons that
'Charley' would take good care of them...Yea, Right !!
She should have tried for 'Treason'.

Jane Fonda followed her convictions and tried to stop a senseless war that was killing thousands of Americans for no reason. Going to Hanoi was a major mistake. She should never have consorted with the enemy. So it's not all black & white. A lot of Americans were confused back then. Like so many of them who treated the returning soldiers badly. It was not their fault that our government made a lot of bad decisions.

Yes, I agree. It was decades ago and she apologized so forget it but at the time; there was a lot of criticism about the U.S. and their participation in the Vietnam war. Many people protested against it but a lot of people felt that she used her Hollywood privilege and name to do what she did. I can forgive her now and back then; I was too young to know what she did but years later seeing her with those people did hurt but that did not stop me from going to her movies and I now realize that what she said was her way of saying she did something very stupid and she apologized to the men and women who were there.
