They stopped supporting me when I became 18 and graduated from high school. We were pruned from a very young age that when we graduated from high school we were outta there!..lol
I moved in and out of their home 3 times when I was 18. The third time my dad said to me, "Honey, this is just like baseball. Three strikes and you are out!! It is time you made your own way through the world." I've never went back to my parent's home to live. That was the best thing they could have ever done for me. From that moment, in my eyes and theirs, I was no longer a child, I was an adult. :)

I got a part time job at 16, and bought things that I wanted, or makeup, but not food or things like that.

Got to college, moved out....totally supported myself from then on out (except my parents footed the bill for college---so greatful for that!!!)

Now I'm a college grad, a teacher, and totally support myself :)
