The U.S. "owes" a certain amount of money (in the billions) to the U.N. However, I also read that Congress contributes a significant amount of money to the United Nations every year to allow it to continue functioning. Is this true? How much money do we give the U.N. every year not including repayment of debts? If you could include a citation and a website I would be very appreciative.

US is the major contributor to the UN but the figures are not out because the UN protects the image of the US for being influential in its operations.
