is there a golden glove awarded for every position? seems like lots of players win the golden glove. how does that work?

Yes every postion. Including 3 OF of any OF position. Which is usually 3 Center Fielders.
Also, it goes by the League. National and American have their own selections.

The Gold Glove award is awarded to every defensive position including pitcher. Baseball writer from around the country vote on every position

Golden Gloves are a boxing thing.
The Gold Gloves are given to each defensive position, with the exception of the outfield positions, where three GGs are awarded per league regardless of primary field played (three "OF" awards instead of "LF, CF, RF").
