Wild Blue is not faster than Comcast. There will always be a delay of 650 m or more with satellite connection because of the distances involved.

Wild Blue's new satellite has its hub on the satellite itself, deleting one round trip in the page request process. This should shorten the delay time. Other providers satellite hubs are earth based stations.

One thing that will improve performance is the rate of MPEG data compression. Data compression ratios need to improve way beyond MPEG 4 or 5 to MPEG 10 or better to significantly improve satellite communications.

Satellite will always have problems with propagation delay. You may be able to download as fast as cable modem, but there will be noticeable delay between when your request an item to download and when it finally starts sending.

No, Satalite has to much of a transmit and Receive delay because of the distance from your home to the satalite and then back from the satalite to the ground station and back again.
