when I get one number after the = sign it's easier to find the answer but with these I am stuggling. Also can anyone recommend either a good software to help out or a book ?
Thaks for your help

These all come down to solving quadratics. You should learn about factoring, and to a lesser extent completing the square and the quadratic formula, all in that order. (DO NOT try to learn the quadratic formula and nothing else, otherwise you'll be needlessly spending time on some problems you can solve much quicker and with less risk of error.) Here are some sites that explain how do each of these:

All of these questions (except for the second one) are quadratics which can be solved by:
-Completing the Square
-Factoring
-Quadratic formula

If you are confused about the numbers after the equils sign, just re-arrange the equation as you would in any algebraic equation so that you have ( = 0 ) one one side of the equation. For Example:

x^2 - 4x = 25 -4x - 4x

1.) Just group like terms, (-4x - 4x = -8x)

2.) then add 8x to -8x to move it to the left side of the equation (-4x +8x) = 4x

3.) them subtract 25 from the right side

4.) Now you have your ax^2 + bx +c = 0 format that you can use in completing the square, factoring or the quadratic formula: x^2 + 4x - 25 = 0 (ie. This is the 'friendlier' form of your fourth quadratic equation.

As for sources, I reccomend searching google, or asking your math teacher or instructer for help.

First step is you need to set them all equal to 0.
3x^2+x=10 Take a -10 from both sides
3x^2+x-10=0
(3x-5)(x+2)=0
3x-5=0 x+2=0
3x=5 x= -2
x = 5/3

6x=5x^2-8 Take -6x from both sides
0=5x^2-6x-8
(5x+4)(x-2)=0
5x+4=0 x-2=0
5x= -4 x=2
x= -4/5

x^2+2x=8x-9 Take -8x+9 from both sides
x^2+2x-8x+9=0 Combine like terms
x^2-6x+9=0
(x-3)x-3x)=0
x-3=0
x=3

x^2-4x=25-4x(i dont think you meant to write 4x twice) so add 4x to both sides & a -25 to both sides;
x^2-25=0
(x-5)(x+5)=0
x-5 =0 x+5=0
x=5 x=-5

1. 3x^2+x-10=0
If ax^2 + bx +c=0, the two roots are (-b+sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a
and (-b-sqrt(b^2-4ac))/2a
So substitute a=3, b=1 and c= -10 and get the two roots.

2. 6x=25-8=17, So x= 17/6

3. Do 3 and 4 using the same methods as 1.

Be careful when you get a negative inside the sqrt. It is an imaginary number i.

you could merely upload the equations jointly and it will eliminate the y subsequently. 4x +3y = a million +2x-3y = a million =6x=2 Divide to get x = 2/6 = a million/3. Now plug in x in between the equations to clean up for y. 4(a million/3) + 3y = a million 4/3 + 3y = a million 3y = -a million/3 y = -a million/9. If the priority grow to be tougher, you will possibly could multiply between the equations by a sort to get a gadget in which you will upload/subtract to cancel a variable.

uve got quadratic equations yeh. equal everything to zero, move everything to one side.
for eg. q1 3x^2 + x - 10 = 0; then use quad formula

or u can type everything in ur calculator
y1 = 3x^2 + x
y2 = 10
and find where they intersect.
