To be honest, because it's so hard to get into college anymore, I'd recommend you apply to all of them. That said, I think you have a pretty good chance of getting in to at least one. From there, you can work hard to do well and study for the MCAT - both grades and test scores will help you get into med school.

Finally, I like Duke best on your list but I know all the other schools would do an equally good job of preparing you for med school.

And some good news....there is now a real threat of a doctor shortage on the horizon. So no matter which undergraduate program you attend, you might have a good shot at getting into a MD program!

Yes there some colleges in which you can take those kinds of classes, but they are usually the community college ones. 4 year university ones require a form, possibly money to apply, and essays. I had taken a cake decorating class once at a community college. And yes, I did meet my spouse at college. It was our freshman year at Michigan State University. We are meant for each other!

Duke and Northwestern are among the best ones for medical degrees. Northwestern is also a great college in other areas, enabling you to change major and pursue a different path if you change your mind about medical studies.

I would suggest you to check the US News rankings and browse their web site. They have tons of information about each school.

Also, picking a school is a very personal decision. It is four years of your life and a lot of money. It is therefore critical that you pick a school you are comfortable in. Go spend some time and visit the schools.

I think University of Michigan is the best, but they're all great colleges. Best of luck to you. =D
