try first entering ur bios and loading defaults ... if that doesnt do it try uninstalling ur ide and cdrom drivers from device manager then reboot ... if it gives u a driver error then ur operating system is missing files ... optical drivers are part of windows ,,, so either do a repair at that point or a complete reformat ..

definite, your tension is a burner - a dvd burner to be precise. looks like there may be a substantial subject with it in spite of the undeniable fact that. Is the workstation nevertheless under the producer's guarantee? even no count if it is not, you need to nevertheless have the potential to get a alternative tension from the producer (ie Toshiba) even in spite of the undeniable fact which you will ought to pay for it. earlier you do this in spite of the undeniable fact that: - verify you have a suitable application that helps dvd-burning on your pc which includes Nero Burning ROM or Roxio ordinary-CD author - abode windows XP has some burning features yet will possibly no longer help DVD burners remarkable. - in case you do have this manner of application, confirm it is the freshest version relatively obtainable to you. pass to its internet site and on a similar time as you're there, examine the FAQ or help area to confirm if your tension is incompatible with the utility - some in basic terms are not getting alongside! - If all else fails, till you're specific of the stress's unworkability, you need to attempt a sparkling installation of abode windows, because it is a complicated piece of utility and issues in many cases pass incorrect! earlier doing this you could ought to returned up all your information... i assume this may be confusing what with the burner no longer working ;-) yet you could p.c.. up a extensive skill usb flash tension or exterior no longer ordinary tension for no longer too plenty (and those are relatively a sturdy thought!) look at your Toshiba handbook/handbook for training on getting a sparkling installation.
