Everyone should not buy gas for one day a month. And see what happenes to the prices. Do you feel it would make an impact on oil and gas prices? If we went on strike once a month.

States should adopt a day a month to go on strike...That should do it...50 states, over 30 days...If they each boycotted gas for a day, the oil companies would feel it...

The wonderful economics of supply and demand already do this to us. When prices go up, people use less gas. It would be aimless to "strike" to keep the prices low.

The fact that the price is high will push our society forward. Notice that not very many people were interested in "saving the environment" before gas prices rose. Now everyone is interested in alternative energy and ways to conserve and preserve for the planet's sake.

I don't think it will make a difference if people didn't by gas for one day in the US. Prices are high and that is that. They will not go down until this stupid war is over. Does anyone remember when gas was under $2.00?? I have an SUV and these prices suck. But unless you want to walk or ride you bike about 10 miles to go to work, then deal with the prices until the go down. Not everyone is going to go on strike because we are used to driving and getting to where we need to go fast.

Not this again....I think the complexity around the energy industry specially with the number of commodity trading activities happening around the world would almost make it impossible to guess what will happen. Sure demand will go down, but if every body does do this, would OPEC reduce production in order to keep prices? And who does everyone include? 18 wheelers? What kind of impact would that have on supply chain? Not sure, interesting thought but I don't know that there is a simple answer.

If you don't buy gas one day, you'll just buy it the next day or so. Not everyone gets gas every single day. Oil companies will get the same amount of money, they just have to wait an extra day. Believe me, they wont be shaking in their boots. Maybe we should ride bikes or Llamas or just carpool more often. Use less gas, that's all we can do for now.

I feel that in order to make the biggest impact, everyone in the entire country must abstain from filling up at the gas stations for a whole day. Unfortunately, not everyone will participate in this strike.

Not buying gas on one day would have no impact as if you are still going to use your car that day you will spend exactly the same amount on gas over the month.
If you want any impact people would need to give up their car for a day which i doubt people would be prepared to do

I see your point. But I'd have a terrible time getting around for a month if I couldn't drive (bad public transit in my part of the world). Instead, I'd recommend folks use public transit when they can and buy ***fuel efficient*** cars whenever possible. We'll eventually get our message through.

It wouldn't make a difference, sooner or later we will have to fill up again...

Until there is a discovery of a new form of transportation or new fuel, we are all terribly screwed!
