As long as the kids stay interested in Pokemon, there'll be Pokemon cards, toys, shows, etc. It's a big market in Japan and it's a foreseeable contender for years on down the line. There just isn't anything else that comes close to its marketability. There's just no end to what they can do with the name and they will continue to milk it til people get tired of the products.

They tried to do so with Digimon Digital Monsters. They tried hard to subplant Pokemon but Pokemon was just too strong of a franchise. A lot of animes that were brought out of Japan and shown here suffered because of Pokemania. It's the Godzilla of our year. As long as Pokemon remains on people's minds and on kid's TVs and games, I see them going on through the Apocolypse.

I don't think so, but I hope it does. That show was never very good in the first place, and it's repeated itself over so many times that it's lost whatever entertainment value it once had. Even a new Pokemon show set in a completely different world that just happens to have Pokemon in it, like the last two seasons of Digimon, would be a breath of fresh air.

No, as long as its making money, they'll continue to make it even though the animation has gotten horrible as well as the storyline. (Well...the american dub was off, and the voice actors are bad...) Its the same way with the movies. Pokemon is one of nintendo's big enterprises and boosts a lot of money for them.

Look at Doraemon, its over 30 years old and still going strong. But its the same way with american comics, Peanuts is over 50 years old and is still popular and loved and Garfield as well.
