to be honest, more adult are afraid to hug each other than teens. I hug my friends at school all the time and we never think any thing of it. but when ever adults hug, people automatically say "Oh there's a gay person" or "awwuuuhh, how sweet, their dating" That's probaby why everyone's so self conscious all the time.

I don't know why people are so slow to give you a big ol' bear hug! Personally, I always really appreciate the gesture. It's one of the most comforting things when you're sad, and a great way to congragulate someone who just accomplished something. It's a multitasking gesture, yet it is used much less than it should be. Maybe it's just too personal for some people.

I'll hug women if they ask first, some women are insecure, have boyfriends or husbands who'd kill any guy who touches their woman-I was punched out for just "looking" at a woman in a club!

Eugene O'Neill once said: "Why am I afraid to dance, I who love music and rhythm and grace and song? .... Why was I born without a skin, Oh God? That I must wear armor in order to touch and to be touched."
I think this says it all.
