My stepson and I are planning on paying back a bus company on the value of the tickets my 14-year-old stepson has counterfeited to get to school. However, I'm not so sure what is the best way to settle this issue. One, based on what i heard and also observed, the drivers as well as the bus company are mean, in the sense that they curse and yell at student. Im not so sure whether I should settle this in person, but I'm leaning towards that. My stepson fears and is worried about how they will react, considering that they know how he looks like when they caught him using those tickets. Not to mention, we will also be riding that bus to go the company for pay them back. I'm not so sure what to say to them.

What is best way to settle this issue? Should I call them up and offer to pay back or simply mail them a check w/ a apology letter written by my stepson?

Thank you

Then again, I really think that we should pay them back. My stepson is literally intidimated by the prospect of him going to court and a juvenile detention center. I'm just clueless on how to handle this and what their reaction would be because of how they act toward children

I think both you and your son should go to the bus company and work out a way for your son to pay back the money. After all he is the one that broke the law. He should be punished not you.Maybe he could spend time washing buses or something. I think your son writing an apology would be a good idea as well. Now on the bus drivers cussing and being mean that is a different subject. I would write a letter to the bus supperviser abould the unprofesional way they treat customers. If he tries to make restitution I doubt if they will get the courts involved.

Tell your Step-Son to bring a camcorder with him, and document any harassment. I say don't give the company a dime, they'll be fine with out it. I doubt they'll take you all the way to court, who needs publicity like that?

Either way, I wish you the best of luck with this, and your son too. If his claims are true, those Bus Drivers need to be smacked in the face a good few times by someone bigger than them....see how they like being intimidated.
