Oh YES!! Without a doubt. I am just so blessed to know that they are SACRIFICING a whopping 5 points so I can get 2 points that have no value at all. If you're here only for the points, you really do need to get a life. I couldn't care less about the points, I'm here for fun. Think about it, what good are the points? Can you redeem them for anything? Unless I missed something along the way, they have no value at all.

Yes, unless it's a really dumb question that isn't serious. That's a waste of points.
On the other hand, there are people who just write a response that has nothing to do with the question and then under, 'source' the write 'ha ha, now I get 2 points!!'
I don't think that's fair. Besides, if it were a GOOD answer, you'd get 10 instead of 2!
But I do like when I can give good advice.
Hope this helps! =)

I'm sure everyone appreciates points here and there, for me and for you. The object of asking questions is to gain information and knowledge. That's why we ask a question, to find an answer, not to gain a point, or two, or three...

Well, actually, the people who sacrifice 5 points get 3 points back when they pick a best answer. Also, if they answer another question, they get the other 2 points back, too. So really, there's no actual sacrifice. Sorry...

When you think about it, asking a question only costs 2 points, because when you choose a best answer, you get 3 points back. So it's really not that bad.

I do.
Some of us aren't good askers or prefer to answer only.
Points don't thrill me much, it's the fun of the mental exercise that keeps me coming back.

yeah, I do appreciate people (like you!) who do that. And in the Polls and Surveys it happens a lot over really pointless questions
