Here in the continental United States the commanders wont allow their soldiers to carry firearms or knives on base. Imagine what would have happened if 6 armed terrorists walked onto an Army base where noone is allowed to defend themselves under the 2nd amendment.

Just because it is an army base doesn't mean that they expect to be attacked on our own soil! That was the last thing anyone would think about. Bet that is going to change very soon! I do wonder why someone with authority didn't think that such a thing could happen? I have been on army & navy bases, I was surprised at how easy it was for me to get in, I didn't have to prove anything. If it was that easy for me, don't you think someone should have thought it just might be easy for those with terrorist ideas could do the same? We really dodged a bullet there, so to say.

Because its not normal for our soldiers to be armed and ready to fight on our home soil. You don't see armed troops walking the streets, just like you don't see fighters sitting on the ramp fully loaded with missiles and 20 mm in the cannon.

probably because they let "the pizza" delivery guy in with little or notice.
