While it does exist, I've always felt sorrier for the oldest child. As the 1st child, the parents were stricter with him. The parents made him responsible for the younger children. If the middle child (deliberately) did something wrong, the oldest child took the flack because "he was older and should have known better".
The youngest kid usually gets a lot of hand-me-down clothes and toys. His photo album looks a little sparse. Parents take fewer pictures by then.
I'm an only child and thought it was the best.

Yes its when you are a middle child and the smaalest child get alll the attention for being cute and the oldest one get attention cause they are oldest and they expierence almost everything before you

yes it is very common. the oldest gets to do more and the youngest usually gets the most attention. leaving the middle feeling alone and not wanted..
