my favorite color is puple and I dont like dresses that are all the way down to the ankle long! I like knee length kind of dresses epsecially for prom ,any ideas??

Or you could totally go with black and do purple accessories, like strappy purple heels with a purple purse and jewelry. Even a belted dress with a purple sash would be cute. Macy's online has a lot of cute prom dresses or Jessica McClintock. Though in-store Macy's has a lot better and less expensive selection. Also, if you get black, depending on the style, you can wear it again to any evening occasion without looking like you just came from prom. Here are a couple other looks:

definitely get an issue of Seventeen's Prom Edition(u can find it on ur local newstand or corner store) they have many dresses celebrity style and regular in there for an appropriate price if not u can copy an idea and change the color and get it made. Thats wat i did for my prom last year and only paid $160 and it was retro flare basically like wat ur lookin for!!Hope thats not too much!!!GOOD LUCK
