yes many people who support 'traditional values' are very upset by this.

but legally interracial marriage has been legal since '78 in all states.

Well, there are a few state that refuse to accept that the Confederacy lost the war, that Johnson signed the Civil Rights bill, Lincoln freed the slaves and that all people of color have the same rights as they do.

We call them "developing states"... They haven't quite caught up with the 21st century yet

It was obviously liberals. Southern Democrats were against it. That is why Nixon came up with the "Southern Strategy" of wooing southern racists to vote for the Republican party based on fear of being forced by the Federal Government to accept blacks.
