...I personally clicked many (I stopped counting at 55) responces that talked about what a traitor she is, or that she should have learned better from her parents.

This isn't an answer to a question so much as a response to those who have replied already:

If Jane Fonda had said Osama is not such a bad guy, would you be so forgiving? If it was your son/father/brother who was called a liar after emerging from a POW camp where he was tortured, how would you feel?

She said she was sorry for taking the picture on the anti-aircraft battery. Not for her activism.

Helping the enemy does not equal bringing about peace. If people want to forgive, that's up to the INDIVIDUAL. But if anyone forgets, that's just asking for it.

Jane Fonda is getting old. She was a very spoiled kid. She usually did everything she thought was great. Big mistake she made when she was in Hanoi. So now she is trying to change the image that she bore, from years ago. She wants to leave this world , and have people think differently about her. I would not want to go to my grave with the name of Hanoi Jane. She wants people to think different about her.

Ok.

She gets much "feedback" as she has become "symbolic" of something she never really was.

I, as a two tour plus Vietnam Veteran often wonder why she takes so much but I do understand.

I respect her for her positives and they were many: her overall civil rights and "womens" issues work, her being the first fitness guru, etc.

She also made the movie "Coming Home" at great risk:
that is the film with Jon Voight. The second film about paralyzed combat veterans (The first was Marlon Brando's "The Men" after Korea), it is seldom ever shown on TV. Not an easy watch, but it is true, still rings true today as in "Walter Reed", the lousey care returning disabled veterans recieved.

She did much with that film.

We all make mistakes, it was a sad era in America, read my profile: I paid a price for service, and I respect those that do not like her. I have the capacity to see her many facets.

Most of my career was mentoring, counseling veterans and others with spinal cord injured and "TBI". I devote my "hate" to Nixon who carried the war way past the time to stop such,
but to paraphrase Bob Dylan "we all gotta hate someone".

When Jane Fonda was speaking out on the Viet Nam war she was a young woman who was just getting interested in politics and the world around her. Back in those days many people had a different outlook on things than their parents before them, if not in a form of rebellion, then is just needing to explore some of the other choices life had to offer. To blame her parents at the age is ridiculous. Since then Jane has raised children, and grown and evolved into a very wise woman, and a great actress. To hold over her head a comment she made so many years ago, and have that be the focus of a tirade against her is silly. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion...and in a lot of cases it may not be the sensible one that wins out.

Hey, it's not like she was a war protestor, like the rest of us hippie types. She gave aid and comfort to the enemy. That is Treason!!!!!!!!! I think we were all pretty light on her.
One more time for those of you not alive then: Giving aid and comfort to the enemy is TREASON. She wasn't making protest speeches, excercising her rights. She gave aid to the North Viet Namese NVA!!!
Things changed a bit when she married Ted Turners Wallet errr his personality.
So still want to say oh she was just a kid???

So if you young people decide to go over, find Osama Bend Over, give him Money, is that just a kid? That's what she did!!!
She did not protest us going to war, SHE SIDED WITH THE ENEMY. When you say "Back When" I was back then. I protested the war!!!!! But I did not give money aid and comfort to the ENEMY.... Huge Difference.....
So love her if you must.......But as a person who was there, forgive me if I don't...

Jane Fonda has done a lot of good in her life since her youth when she exercised her Freedom of Speech.

Enough already.

I've been drinking a few beers and need to pee. If she was on fire I would hold it a while longer.

What I would like to ask everyone: Would you judge a person on the worst thing they have done.

Hopefully you are perfect and won't be judged.
