You should definitely start with low heels and work your way up. Start with 1" or less. That's how I started, and now I can walk in 4" with no problem.

If the ones you've already gotten are pretty high, just make sure to walk on the front ball of your foot, and try not to put much, if any, weight on your heel. That's how you're supposed to walk in heels. It helps you keep your balance.

Also, a tip: bring bandaids. You'll probably get blisters on your toes.

ETA: do NOT wear nylons. They'll make your feet slippery, and moving around in your shoes will make things ten times worse!

It's no big deal unless you got 4 inchers or above. Just put them on and start walking. Or put on some music and try dancing until you feel comfortable. Heels make you look great and you will be fine quickly. Be sure to wear nylons and never buy them too short or too tight. Wear them each day somewhere so you get used to them so that by the party you will be comfortable. Stand straight and sit with your knees together and you'll be great. You are going to love it!

Practice in them. That is the best thing you can do. Try not to have to walk too much. You will get used to it sooner or later. : ) Depends on what kind you picked out for how long it will take though. Some are very cute looking, but very hard to walk in. I'm sure you will be just fine. Have fun.

Good Luck

Make sure theyre comfortable, buy the Dr. Scholls high heel thingie to make your heels comfortable. Also, keep your legs straight, dont bend or anything weird like that.Remember to break them in before the event!

The best way is to practice walking in them...after a while you'll get used to it. It's easiest if you don't start with a really high one. You can work your way up gradually. Good luck ;)

try walking around the house with them on for practice.... although since you're a first time heel-wearer i would suggest choosing a heel that isnt too high..... maybe like two inches would be good....

I had the same problem (but not a tea party, lol) all you have to do is wear them for a couple of days and just do your normal activities, walk around...
PRACTICE... PRACTICE... PRACTICE...
