Sigh.
You can't even spell "writing" correctly.

The children's book market is very tough. Tougher than the adult or young adult market. Very competitive. You don't even have the book completed yet and you're already looking into publishing info and the money issues.

Write because you're passionate about it. If you're only writing for the money, you're not a writer. Whatever you do, do not quit your McDonald's job to pursue this.

There are many sources for getting published. As stated in another answer you do not need an agent to get published. Cost varies by publisher and the services they provide for the price.

I am an author and continue to write. I am currently writing articles and working on two books at the same time. Finding a publisher can be a daunting task but it is worth it when you find the right one. In getting published I learned much about the publishing industry and what publishers normally do and what the authors must do.

I have designed a web site to help new and experienced authors through the process of getting published. It is a resource for authors to help them gain exposure for their writing. My site is www.myqualitywriting.com.

I would recommend that you create a web site or have it created for you. I would have never thought I would have designed my own. I have a host that has a program that anyone can learn. They even offer free on line classes for their system.

I also have a free download about my publishing journey which offers what I have learned and provides some marketing opportunities.

Hope this helps.

Agents is not going to contact whatever that's already Published (if it is a respectable corporation) niether will they submit matters which have been placed at the Internet. Synopsis's is fine however should you add chapters then no. Also with self-publishing you have got doomed your self. Your ebook is not getting at any place so that you write some thing else and procedure an Agent. They desire to grasp whether or not you have got any matrerial Published, then they desire to grasp whether or not it bought. Yours has now not, they marvel why and wont take delivery of your paintings. You have got to ask why your paintings hasn't bought. Self-Publishing could make or holiday you and really as a rule it breaks you, now you'll be able to wrestle to submit whatever along with your History. I are not able to urge men and women ample to assess each and every angel of Publishing and in my sincere opinion avoid Self-publishing. Sorry to deliver you simplest unhealthy information, however it is not your ebook that wont be authorized however you as good. I are not able to even inform you what to do and you'll be able to now not get out of it I'm afraid. I'm now not an Author myself I paintings for the 'Dark Side', men and women should not be so terrified of Agents we do not chew that rough.

Seems like everyone tries to give an honest response just to get points on here. To be honest you don't need an agent to become a published author. I am a published author, and have 6 books to my credit. A wonderful editor that does most of my editing. I get paid monthly, and my books are on the shelves.
I tried self publishing once and I regret it. The cost can be astronomical which really isn't the printing of your book itself but marketing and promoting your book. If you want I can refer you to a publisher and editor. Good luck. TnM

You shouldn't have to pay anything to get a book published. If an agent or publisher asks for money up front, it's a sign of a scam. Ask your local library for a copy of "Writer's Market." It's got a list of reputable publishers and tips on getting published.

You have a couple options available to you.

If you're interested in large publishing houses, then I recommend you begin researching agents because large publishing houses don't accept unagented or unsolicited manuscripts. Preditors and Editors is a website that has an exhaustive listing of agents. They also offer warnings in regards to agents that don't have safe business practices. Writerswall.com has a good list, too, though not as large as P&E.

You can also research small independent publishers. They allow submissions directly from the writer. They usually list their submission guidelines on their website and some encourage electronic submissions. Always follow their submission guidelines to the letter. That's why they post them. Again, you can find these publishers on both of the websites I mentioned above.

Finally, there's self-publishing, which you can do for free on lulul.com. It's an easy site to navigate. They produce hard bound books as well as paperbacks.

If you go the agent way, beware of agents that charge fees. Stay away from them. Always remember that agents and publishers earn their money the same way you do...by selling your work.

Good luck to you with your writing. :o)

1. It should not cost you anything to publish a book with a reputable publisher. They pay you if they accept the book.

2. You send it in to publishers of childrens books. Be warned, unsolicited manuscripts are not given top priority, you will probably have a longish wait, and you smay have to send it in to several publishers as well.

Good luck.

You need a Literary Agent to pitch your book idea to a publisher.

Go to any large bookseller in your city and buy a copy of TheWriter's Market. It lists the contact information for literary agencies and publishers.

I know that it is free---you shouldn't have to pay anything, they should pay to get it (and they will pay ALOT if it's good)
