you give them your computer and they do something to it and then it runs so much better. Does anyone know the exact programs/processes they run on the machines to make them perform better besides disk degrag and disk cleanup?

If they do their jobs right, they also remove viruses, spyware and adware. There are dozens of programs they might use, depending on what they are trying to remove.
