It's permisable to have one or two kids. Plus, some of us aren't having any (through choice or otherwise), so we can absorb some large families.

Global warming is real to a point, and resources like oil are fixed resource, and the goverment should start to subidise exploration of newer energy sources not to make America so dependant on raw materails like oil from unfreindly regimes. Birth rates have been declining for the last 50 years in the most of the world, and even some developing countries brithrates are barely above replacement levels. As countries develop economically they become cleaner in regrads of using resources over time. Carbon taxes on certain industries is a good idea to reduce dependance on fossil fuels, and tax incentive to build products more energy efficent too.

Or the honey-bee die off across the country is just a myth?
Or the F5 tornado in Greensburg KS was just a myth?
Or the series of storms which hammered the Northwest this past winter was just a myth?
It's *easy* to dismiss something out of hand--because you're so afraid of it. But the worst crime is to sit by and do NOTHING.

I don't understand--are you saying that in order for you to care about the future of the human race you need to be a parent?
Or are you claiming that everyone who notes the dangers of global warming and of overpopulation are united in some way, telling you what to do?
Personally, I regard both premises as flawed at best.

If you're not going to have kids, and all of your friends are not going to have kids, when global warming finally gets to you, who's going to help you out? Your aged friends? Besides, it is not just dogma, it makes SENSE not to destroy the earth. It's the only one we've got! (who says you are not supposed to have kids?)
