First cousin once removed. I would have said second cousin, but my husband is insanely anal about this kind of stuff and explained how it works to me... if you had a baby, that baby would be your cousins babies second cousin. Confusing? It has to do with generations.... It took me a while to catch on, but I assure you... the baby of your first cousin would be your first cousin once removed.

You will be a first cousin once removed to marco's child. When Marco's child has children, you will be their first cousin twice removed.

Your children will be second cousins to Marco's child.

Another way to remember this is that first cousin share common grandparents. Second cousins share common great-grandparents.

Jordan is right but in my family personally to avoid confusion, we just call everyone aunts & uncles. Like my moms cousins are my "aunts" & "uncles". My grandparents cousins are my "great aunts & uncles" etc. Mostly we just do that for the kids. It makes it easier for them to know what to call everybody & they still at least know they are related but its all up to you & your family how you want to do it.

You will be the 2 nd cousin to the baby and your children would be 3 rd cousins to the baby. And of course we stop counting after 4 th cousins. Technically then you are no longer related.
Brothers and sisters of the parents become uncles and aunts.

We had this conversation the other day because me and my first cousin Nikki and her new baby hang out all the time. Nikki is my first cousin, her baby is my Second cousin and my baby and her baby are Third cousins.

Jordan is right... 1st cousin once removed. I looked it up for myself when my cousin had babies and that is correct.
