i put an at&t sim in my cingular sony ericsson w600 now its actin weird?

when i attempt to make a phone call..it starts but b4 it connects i get this beeping sound...what should i do i tried takin the battery and the sim out already

If the SIM is blue, white and black and says "AT&T Wireless" then it's older technology that is not supported anymore by Cingular. You need to do a device upgrade (order a new device) and then give Cingular the IMEI and the SIM from the new device.

Give AT&T a call.

Cingular is AT&T. They now go by the name AT&T. Cingular is no more.
