Let's back up a second.
It's one thing to stand up for (alleged) equality of all races, it's another thing to blatantly call whites racist (i.e.--Duke Lacrosse players) before all the facts are out--and then not issue an apology when the facts come out and the D.A. says those students were innocent.
I stand for the promotion of all race equality--and agree with MLK when he said we should not judge others by what's on the outside, but what's on the inside.
Al Sharpton demanded that Don Imus be fired for his comments (which WERE wrong)---however in previous interviews Al Sharpton said "i've yet to see a Jewish writer give a non-biased opinion of Israel". --but later after several people were upset, Al Sharpton issued an apology--and that was "good enough" (in his own eyes).
How can someone stand for equality when they make racist comments, cry racism against blacks, and condemn others before all of the facts are even known???????

Al Sharpton is NOBODY to be a fraid of. If you truly think that white people are afraid of him you are wrong. We look at him as a representative of African Americans and actually feel a bit of embarrassment FOR the black people he claims to 'back' . He can't REALLY be a true representative. If you think we are afraid - you are mistaken, we might sit there in silence as he blabbers on, however trust me, we don't sit there thinking he is someone to fear - he is the butt of many jokes!! He has turned in to a total cartoon character!

What can you say about Mr. Sharpton, he does hold a certain amount of sway, he does some good things, he does some bad things. He has an agenda and he has a base and he manages to keep them stirred-up. I think the man is a blatant racist or he is one brilliant person who has made himself money and a name playing the race card, take your pick. The things he gets involved in, I find most of the time he does more harm than good in the sense of stirring the pot, and most of the time it's about race in some way, shape or form. That's what I think.

What's to be afraid of? The only people who take Al seriously are white public school teachers.

As you see from all the venom that is poured out against him, Sharpton must really touch a nerve with white people. They get very excited about him. I don’t understand it.
Sharpton says some very worthwhile things but he gets no attention for those. When he says something against a white person, he is heavily criticized. It is very interesting.

What possesses people to so visibly slant their views that no one could mistake their bias and blindness? Are they so isolated that they can't see that they are advertizing their total inability to see two sides to an issue?
White people afraid, jealous. It's rather silly. Are there some? Sure enough.
But to use that as a silly attempt to dismiss all complaints against what Rev. Sharpton has said and done?
How silly. Just as silly as those who would dismiss everything he's done because, for instance, his involvement in those riots. Wrong? Yes. Worth dismissing everything he's done because of it? That's wrong, too.
And this poster would dismiss any criticism against Rev. Sharpton's behavior or actions by using the "they must be jealous and afraid" argument most of us got over in elementary school. In addition, he desperately tries to undermine our President and country on a daily basis (unsuccessfully, of course).
To answer more directly: Most of them aren't afraid, or jealous, but those who are jealous are the one's with no ethics who wish they had a minority group to exploit for political power. Those who are afraid are miotically concerned that black people (yes, that terrifying group of people not like YOU) will rise up and cause violence in their nice white world (both groups are severely in the minority in our world. Leave them to their fears.)
That someone stands up for someone is a good thing. That they subvert free speech is bad. Yet, Rev. Sharpton didn't do that. We did by not tuning in to Imus. WE have the power. He just used it. He wanted us to condemn and shut down Imus, and we did, for fear of being seen as racist because of words.
Silly. Yet, Rev. Sharpton is well within his rights to express his opinion and contempt for the name-calling.
Interesting that this poster does the same thing to our President all the time, and condemns those who stand up for the Presidency. Hypocritical? You judge. Read his posts.
I just finished reading all the answers to this post! I am stunned by the collection of American sanity! Please you all! Read the rest of this guys posts and slam the sedition while you are at it (and encourage him to keep posting; he'll learn the difference between dissent and sedition eventually).
I just hope he actually reads the answers (and learns from them) rather than live in a fantasy world by automatically dismissing all of us as "fearful and jealous".

No one is afraid of him, we laugh at him, and we pity the people who take him seriously.
When you say "Stand up for His People" I take you do not mean Americans? Gosh, I thought we were ALL his people, being he is a Reverend and all.
There is not a more Racist person in America than Al Sharpton.
Did you see his interview a couple weeks ago? After Calling for the heads of those 3 Duke University LaCross players, accused by a Black woman of rape?
Asked why he continued to call for the maximum sentence even after the DNA showed IT COULDn'T be them he said "I back my people". When asked if he would apologize to them after his effort to convict them even after the truth came out that the DA lied? "I owe no one an apology, it's another example of keeping us down".
Do you think that he speaks for you when he says that? Or is he telling you that you cant think for yourself, and he will do it for you?

Sharpton and Jackson can say and do things and not be punished like the white man.I really don't think most black people want them to represent their feelings. They have their own agenda and it has nothing to do with helping their race.

I feel sorry for the man and his antisemitism. If you don't know about his past, search for Al Sharpton and Jew and see what comes up.
The man is a hater and a divider who thrives when races (White Black Jew Asian HIspanic etc.) don't agree and get along with each other.
That is why people FEAR him, because he is an evil man.

Ask yourself why is he singling out certain people?
If he was sincere in his objection to them, he would have been low key and private in his comments.
He's getting the wrong sense of self, a later day great white hunter. Why? Because he can? Heck we all can.
One stands up by building, not knocking down.
IMHO
