I watch Lost every wednesday but im really confused as to what is happening in the show. Especially with this new character Jacob.

So crazy, but it has me pumped! I think he's for real, I don't think Ben is making it up. Because he seemed really bugged that Locke heard him too. Maybe he thinks Locke will replace him as the leader. Guess we'll find out sometime!

I noticed that Jacob did not like light very much. I wonder if Jacob uses the black smoke like a shroud to protect himself from daylight.
I also think that Ben was *special* but then he got full of himself and liked being in control. Now Jacob regrets making him his chosen one. Ben has taken Jacob captive with the talons and Jacob no longer speaks to him. That is why Jacob needs Locke's help. That is also why Ben got jealous when Jacob spoke to Locke and he could not hear it. So Ben shot Locke. His followers were ready to start following Locke, and now Jacob is speaking to Locke and not him. He did not want to lose control of the people.
But I still do not know who Jacob is.
Of course, this is strictly my own theory. So don't take my word for it.

there have been quite a few references to Jacob before this episode I think...
that would make sense with the black cloud thing and the ash around the cabin... never thought of that... I was thinking that Jacob had something to do with the Black monster though...

My theory: Ben WAS "special" like John. He was meant to replace Jacob but never did. Jacob is the force that powers the whole island, but HIS reality is fading more and more as the island uses him up more and more. The island NEEDS John. John can replace Jacob.

Hurley sees ineffective human beings he has seen Charlie Eko and in all hazard extra yet I dont undergo in suggestions perhaps it is the present Jacob gave him whilst he touched him like Richard have been given the present of no longer turning out to be previous perhaps Hugo gets 2 see ineffective human beings because of the fact Jacob knew he ought to apply this 2 his benefit faster or later

My sister thinks that Jacob (whoever or whatever he is) IS the black smoke...She got that from the black sand stuff that was on the border of the hut...Just a thought.
