I was 17 and I had gone to my cousin's wedding in Arizona, and I met this older guy (I think he was 24) at the wedding, and he actually used to go out with my cousin! I remember sitting there observing the wedding, and I caught his eye, and thought he was so beautiful. He had longish dark blonde hair, and brown eyes, and wore glasses. There was just *something* about him. He evidentally felt the same way because he introduced himself after the wedding and asked if I was going to the reception. We went to the reception, and there was such a mutual attraction! I remember going to his apartment, and I was so nervous and shaky that I was sitting there feeling totally in love with this guy. He thought it was cute that I was nervous. Anyway, I had to leave for California, and I remembered that he walked me to the gate, and he gave me a necklace and a book of love poems, and I cried all the way home on the plane. People thought it was cute. ( I find that annoying now.) Yep, at 17 I learned the truth.

I have never been in love. But, the first time I had love for someone outside of my family I was about 4 years old believe it or not.

I was 16. He was 18. I had to leave. His Father had died. I still love him, he lives in South America and I saw him 3 years ago. Though we have both moved on, the feelings are still there after 20 years. Very tragic yet very reaffirming.

5 years old. Fell in love with girl down the street, fought with next door neighbor (also 5) in my front yard over who she liked. Stole my mothers jewelry to give to her. Etc., etc. In the end she lived to far away to see (9 houses away)
