the postmaster is the person that runs the post office and cannot marry 2 people to each other. a minister or justice of the peace can.

The Post Master is the head guy at the post office. I don't think they have the authority to marry people.

The only postmaster Ive heard of is the United States Postal Service Postmaster. It is a federal position. Each post office in the USA has a postmaster general who is the "boss" of that office, just as a boss at any other job. The difference is however, he/she is also responsible for the building, as well as staff. And no, he or she cannot marry anyone. Not unles she/she is also an ordained minister.

A Justice of the Peace is the justice or judge of a town. They can marry people.
