Regardless of citizenship, refusing to pay a ticket (which is essentially a fine for a traffic violation) is grounds for possible incarceration.

If you leave the country and the fine remains unpaid ... they probably aren't going to chase after you. However, the fact that you now have a criminal record (both for the traffic offense in the first place, and now the unpaid fine) will have an affect on how easy it is for you to enter the country in the future.

This is regardless of diplomatic immunity, by the way. The record of the fine and violation are there - they just don't process you in light of how they want to handle international relations. But if you should happen to come back as an individual ... all bets are off.

Are you really that arrogant to think because you're not a citizen of the country YOU COMMITTED A TRAFFIC OFFENSE that you don't have to answer to the LAW of that land?
If I went to YOUR country and received the SAME type ticket, would I have to pay the fine/suffer the consequences just because..I'M AN AMERICAN?
Get real! What a pompous, arrogant HEE HAW!
As far as the DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY LAW..it should be abolished and have the offenders KICKED OUT ON THEIR KEESTERS!
If that offends some whiny, lily livered, spineless liberal...POUND SAND!

Nah....you don't have to pay it....we don't have any laws in this country...(sarcasm)
Actually, don't pay it,then there will be a warrant issued for your arrest. When you get arrested, then we can deport you.One down.
Really,I think it is pretty arrogant for you to think that you are above the law and don't have to pay for a ticket that you got through your own actions.

Yes, unless you have diplomatic immunity. There are a lot of that type around both New York City and Washington DC who get all kinds of tickets and don't pay them.

If you break the law, no matter what country you are a citizen in or if that is your home country, you need to be mature enough to deal with consequences otherwise, don't break the law!!
