Glad to see u agree w/ the statute as written. However, I'm not sure why any company wouldn't hire an American for 'respectfully declining' to sign a little piece of govt paper that everyone knowls is completely 'voluntary'. That makes little sense.

And yes, we all realize that if you have participated in a taxable activity, and have taxable income you must pay the excise tax. thx for ur input.

depends on the job. the company may just want to make it easier as they are higher a payroll company to handle their payroll. when an employee mucks it for them, that means it may take additional time to "placate" that one employee to serve a paycheck in the way they want it.

or the payroll service they higher are not capable of doing paychecks without the W-4 withholdings in it.
