His obsession can be soul consuming. Usually due to lonelyness or not fitting in. All huimans fear lonelyness.
You could welcome him into you friends, invite him to things as a "FREIND" and let him see for himself if his love for you is real.
During said events he is going to ask you why you don't dance with him and such and you say "I don't feel for you in that way." after he hears this a few times and see's you with someone else he will understand.
Shutting people out and fearing them just breeds hostility to self and others.

I hope this helped. Best wishes,

Steve lyall

When you are next chatting, stop and ask him if you can both be serious for a minute, then tell him you've looked on him as a friend, but it is getting harder and harder. Tell him, "The fact is I DO like you as a friend, but I have no sexual feelings for you at all. That's something I can't change.

Now can you accept that and stop pestering and bugging me, or are you going to force me to break up our friendship?"

Depending on his answer you should know if he is worth your friendship, or you should discard him like a pair of old tights.

That happens quite often. Maintain some distance, because it isn't going to go away on its own

If you can't make him stay away from you get a restraining order. He sounds weird!

find a boyfriend....then when you have a boyfriend tell your dude friend that you already have a boyfriend and then he will stop bugging you.
