tucksie is wrong about "once its on the web" .. once an item is published anywhere (net, magazine, tv, media, print etc) it gains an automatic copyright. the most you can do, however is just send out cease and desist letters to anyone who uses your images/layout/content without permission. if you want to be compensated by the violations, you have to file for copyright for your website.

to put a Copyright on your site, you can simply do
ampersand-signcopy;

(replace ampersand-sign with &)

in the HTML Code of your site.
