Its sad buts true ..seems majority of men only respect their mothers .. they want a virgin bride and a whore at the same time ... its bloody hard work being a woman sometimes ... i for am glad i am single and if i stay that way forever then so be it ... i am damned if i will ever put up with anything that i dont think is worth it ...

Are all women immature and tainted by contemporary romance novels and romantic comedies to see men in one every dimensional way?
Don't stereotype men, it's rude. Sounds like you came across a couple bad individuals, maybe you're looking in the wrong place for what you want.

Are all women tainted by contemporary consumerism and think that the only way to live life is to get fake tans, spend the whole day shopping and only see men as wallets with legs?!?

The larger problem I would pose is that so many people see other people in one dimensional ways, such as being characterized as a gendered object incapable of individual expression, behavior, thought, values, and emotions.
To answer your question, I don't think that ALL men are any one certain way.
This is especially considering how gender changes over time and from culture to culture. So, what it means to be a man (or even if a culture has a group of people who identify as man-gender or not) is not universal. Gender is largely based on societal expectation, which again, shifts over time and from place to place.

No, though I'll admit a fair deal of them either are or can be, but no....that's a very crude generalization, I'm a female and it's more than just a little insulting to think about even with it not being directed at me.

Hi Smiley,
Since you posted this in the LGBT topic heading I'm going to use my knowledge of gay porn to help answer your question.
Interestingly the dynamic in gay porn is very different from straight porn. In gay porn the two partners are equals, both there for pleasure. In straight porn the woman is often "being used" for the pleasure of the man. Her pleasure seems unimportant, and most often when she fakes looking pleased. Perhaps if woman in straight porn were to actually attempt to enjoy their work this dynamic could change and straight porn wouldn't come across as so objectifying of females.
It would seem that women and men in general have very different view points and experiences when it comes to sexuality. Men enjoy sex with just about anybody they are attracted to. Women seem to only enjoy sex with somebody they have an emotional attraction to. Is it biological? Or societal? Who knows.
What I do know is that many gay men have the same attitude towards sex with other men that many straight men have towards women... and you know what? That's fine, that's male nature, and we respect male nature.
You on the other hand are disrespecting male nature by even posing this question. You say it's immature and tainted when in fact it's normal mature male behavior. As men get older in fact they tend to act MORE like this as they shake off the bullshit they've been told by women.

Feminine women like to be admired. It’s the bi and misshapen that considers men immature if they ogle shapely females and porn.
Get real …. real men enjoy women and visa versa.

Are all women naive and infected with chick flicks to see men as single-minded perverts?
Ask something more specific.

You must hang out with redneck chavs if you really think that!
I dont understand women, in fact i dont understand people generally, and i get confused when i try to understand them. Maybe thats why i have so many friends around the world.
If the people you are around make you fell that way, find some new friends who make you feel welcome and appreciated.
