Does anyone know of any stores/toy stores that sell Ouija Boards? Some friends and I want to get together and play tonight but I need to buy one first! Oh..I also had some questions about seance's. I wanted to know how to do one, what materials I will need, and what environment to do it in. Any help would be great!

As for the Ouija board, I would say call up local toy stores. It's just a toy that is probably in the board game section or something. It can't and doesn't "do" anything beyond being a game in a box.. It's just a toy that people have pretended actually is spiritual..

And, as for the seance.. personally, I wouldn't but too much belief in all that either.. To hold one, you couldn't need any special materials I would think.. since you'd just be getting together a group of friends and just doing it for fun anyway. If you are truely serious about finding out about seance's and actually having any kind of chance of doing anything "right" (according to those that believe in them).. you'd have to really study up on spirits and stuff.. I don't think that the average person is going to get together with friends and be able to summon a spirit......

:)

I don't know if it's real or not, but there's no harm in being careful. Real or not, I've had some good experiences, and I've had some bad. Don't ask it when you're going to die or how. As for seances, I'd say (if you're into witchcraft), cast a protection cirlce, and have five candles at each point for a pentagram. Homemade spells are the most powerful because they refelct your energy. Colors give different effects, but white goes for most everything. Be nice while talking to board, and make sure to thank it when you're done. You might want to do it outside if you believe spirits can get out (that way, they won't be in your house). Toys R Us have them, I know. Have fun and be careful!

you can buy a parker brothers ouija board at wal mart or meijers. A easy seance is to light a candle in the middle of the table. Stare at the candle and everyone hold hands and call on the spirt you want to contact. You need to have a calm relaxing environment.
If you all like to do more fun try light as a feather stiff as a board technique it is so much fun and really works.

Be careful of what you invite into your house. You are not always inviting the good spirits who will answer questions just for fun.

We've had several incidents where we've literally had explosive results in my family's history with Ouija boards. We don't allow them in our homes any longer.

That said, not everyone is going to have our same experiences, so here is a link to ToysRUs:

ToysRUs had a glow in the dark version on their website.

1.) Create a "spooky" atmosphere.
2.) Set up a Ouija board.
3.) Gather as many credulous people as you can find.

You can have fun with it but don't take the results too seriously. If it works it appears very real, but it's not. It's called the ideomotor effect. (See link below.)

When I was a kid I did one with one other guy. The board "said" it was a spirit. It had my brother's birthday and said it was currently in hell. My friend didn't know my brother's birthday so all I can deduce is that I moved the planchette myself, but unconsciously.

I love the comment of the above poster: Make sure you don't invite anyone skeptical. Ha! Yeah, make sure your audience is a bunch of suckers who question nothing.

If you can't find a store that sells them, try making your own ---

First you need to find an old calendar or magazine. This will be the source for your letters & numbers. You may simply write out numbers on paper if you wish.

Second cut out A-Z & 0-9. Cut out some extra letters to spell out yes, no & goodbye.

Find an old surface to tape the letters to. Some choose to make a temporary board by taping letters to an inexpensive card table. I don't recommend doing this on good furniture. You may make a permanent board by gluing letters to an old piece of wood or cardboard.

Lay out the letters A-M in a line slightly arched, then a second line below in N-Z. Leave space between each character.

Place yes in the upper left & no in the upper right corners.

Place the numbers 1-0 below the letters & finally, spell out goodbye along the very bottom. This is just the basic layout of the most commonly used talking board. Feel free to be creative. You may create a circular board with letters around it. You can do whatever you like, just make sure the important information like numbers & letters are listed, as well as a way for the spirit to say goodbye.

For permanent boards, like those on cardboard, you may want to buy an acrylic varnish for a topping. You can find this at art supply stores. For wood just use a basic clear lacquer or varnish. These coatings should prolong the life of your board. Please note, that this method is for inexpensive woods. For more expensive woods, you may want to carve, paint or burn letters & numbers into the board, then top with a wood varnish.

Last but not least you need an indicator or planchette. The most commonly used home indicator is a clear drinking glass. You will use this upside down, placing fingertips on base of glass & letting the glass pass over letters & numbers. Please take caution in using glass with spirit communication. I've heard stories of ghosts smashing glasses. I've never tried using plastic, but you may want to give it a try first to see if it works. Just make sure it is clear. If you try anything else as a planchette with success & would like to share it with us, please do.

That's it! Just be careful as always when crafting an item, decide what layout works best for you & have fun.

Experiment with colors, symbols or whatever seems right for you. You can add tarot cards, runes, planetary symbols, etc. Please take the time to read some tips on how to use a talking board before you start. -Robin

For a planchette or indicator in using a home made channeling board, I have heard that placing an ash tray upside-down is a very effective idea - Edward

Some people think it's all fun and games to play ouija, but it's not a game like some people noted above.......a few years ago some friends wanted to play it, but I refused to participate because I'm scared of that stuff and plus I believe you are calling the spirit world of demons when you play with that stuff........remember the movie "the exorcist?" well, I heard it's based on a true story or at least true events or something like that.......the girl got possessed by a demon that got unleashed when she played the ouija board.........so, don't say we didn't warn you.............and if you do decide to play it anyway because you don't care what we say, then I hope you burn it afterwards...........

Ouija boards and seances are not games, although they may be toted as being games. Unless you are serious about such things and approach them with caution and knowledge, then I would suggest you stay away from them.

Additional: Hey, I warned you. Don't come crying to me when you lose you head. I know about these things, so you really should have some sense and take my advice to heart.

I find that homeade ones are the best. You can find online the proper way to make one.

Be in a calm environment.. try not to have any negative and skeptic energy around..

And be careful but have fun!

I'll edit as soon as I get the address to my fav ouija sites.
