Maybe i have a large ego but my gpa is around 3.3 and i feel like i am way smarter than the people around me at school. All of my friends from high school have like 2.0's or 1.8's or 2.3's.

Am i correct in assuming that most college students have a lower gpa than mine?

It really depends on the school you're at and the level of dedication and intelligence of the students.
My Bachelor's GPA was 3.9 (that one A minus...). Most of my friends were also always on the Dean's list or graduated with latin honors (3.667 minimun for *** laude).

So you can assume whatever you want, but it doesn't apply to my undergrad experience

All you need to do is go to google and type in "average college GPA".......like I just did....and the answer at the following site was that "most are indeed under 3.3:

As one of the other respondents wrote: it all depends on the school.

I'm a graduate student and currently have a GPA of 3.70.

Mine was 3.5. Most people I know in several different colleges had at least a 3.0, but really it depends on the major and the individual student.

Eghh. 3.3 GPA is pretty low. You need to bring that up.

Sorry to break it to you.

3.9 is god-like, 3.7 is impressive, 3.5 is average, anything below 3.5 is seen as "needing work".

But it also depends on other factors...

For instance, a 3.9 as an education/marketing/etc major is nowhere NEAR as impressive as a 3.9 as an engineering/physics/chemistry/etc major.

A 3.3 as an engineering student at MIT is impressive.

etc

Most of my friends that graduated this spring had GPAs around 2.8-3.2 range and they were all liberal arts majors. Alot of them just gave up their last semester, especially since they were not going to grad school.

opinion only. . .

i would think that it really really really depends on the school. some of my friends went to undergrad that used a huge curve. only one class that i took in undergrad used a curve, and it was a bell curve that screwed most of the class, anyway. so i think it really depends.

Interesting, I would have guessed higher. My daughters is 3.9 and my Husband graduated with 4.3.

What are they there for if they are not working on good grades?
