I got a gas powered RC car but no controller. Im not sure of the brand of car my buddy gave it to me. Anyway, it says "rc sport" on the servos and reciever. it says RX-02, AM 2 Channel reciever 27mhz and theres a small chip with a tag that says 5.
My dad has a controler for his rc plane not sure of mhz but its top of the line. Is there a chip that I can match it to or something to make it respond to eachother?

What you need is a 27 mHz controller, a plane controller will not work. The tag with the "5" means that it is on channel 5. When you buy a controller, it comes with a new chip and a little plastic flag that has your channel number that goes on your antenna. Go down to your local hobby shop and they can get you set up.

John is wright 27 MHz is for surface use and 72 MHz is for airplane use the other thing is some transmitters are positive and some negative shift but you will be able to get a transmitter for it on channel 5

There is probably a chip that you could match to it but don't try the rc plane controller because it is both wired differently and probably uses a different frequence (some use the new 49 mhz frequency). try radioshack

ok the two wheel drive wheels last longer 4 wheel drive last a lot shorter but for your terrain its sounds like 4 wheel is a winner
