Yes, most people are co habitating due to the fear of infidelity and finance.. it's common amongst us Americans and people know that most marriages are unsuccessful. So therefore, this and next generation tend to wait before taking the plunge. Like myself.

The numbers are wrong. People oare co habitating. They should be counted as married and then see how many of them have left and moved on. That is the only way that figure would be correct. People do not believe in marriage any more. Why bother when there is no fault divorce. No reason to stay together or get married. No penalty for not being married or getting a divorce. WRONG DATA

I think marriage is - has been -making a come back. I think it's very "vogue" right now to be married. Everyone I know is married, engaged or in a seriously committed relationship that will undoubtedly lead to marriage. That hasn't been always so. I myself just got married for the first time at 36 and seriously never thought it would happen for me. I was single and all of my girlfriends, except one, were single. Then like BOOM, everyone had boyfriends, almost simultaneously and then came the marriage proposals. It's wonderful - marriage is a wonderful institution if both people are committed to the common goal of making the marriage work....for life.

YES...it looks like people are smarter these days and are avoiding marriage alltogether. Thus, decreasing the divorce rate.

No... more people are just living together and not marrying, and people are waiting until they are older to get married.
