In a way it is digital, I and O or I/O, two sides of the same coin, neither endures nor persists without the other. There is a similar relationship for Christians in the words Sin and Son, In judgment God will see one or the other and we decide which to present and own, in this case an either/ or proposition rather than the both/ and of Life and Love. The line can be indistinguishable or broad.

LOVE is like wall of a nerve(blood nerve) and blood is life. It goes on and on and you can live without love for short term but over a period it is love for which u r living. love may be in the form of affection, things that u like, things that u enjoy, things that u hope for etc...
In short term, u might live without love but in long run u will find that, love is the one which gives a direction to ur life and dictates it. (see in the context of the above example).
