Did Taylor Hicks Buy Out His AI Contract & Why?

I realize this was asked recently by Gregori.

But the answers were not correct so I'm trying for a better response.

Yes he DID buy out his contract.

Why?

Taylor is a great singer, performer, artist, AND musician.

Bo Bice is/WAS a great rocker, I absolutely LOVED him...until the A.I. 'powers that be' turned him into a 'Stepford Rocker'.

Taylor saw what they did to Bo and was NOT going to let the A.I. machine do that to him...which is why he had his A.I. contract BOUGHT OUT.

So now he's not a part of the A.I. family anymore...good for him! See fortunately for Taylor he's no dummy when it comes to this music biz. Some of the others may not know what to look for in a contract - a loop hole, if I may.

Speaking of loopholes I'll give you an example:

During the AI Tour last year (not sure if you know anything about that), Taylor had his band LiMBO shadow the AI tour and on many nights he would leave the AI stage and go straight to the bar/club and perform with them.

His AI contract clearly stated he could NOT take part in any professional paid performances while he was under contract with AI...so what did Taylor do? He showed up to all those gigs - and DIDN'T get paid a dime! Hence, not breaking his contract. He even brought along Elliott, Ace, Bucky and CHRIS even showed up once or twice.

They were messin' with the wrong one for the beginning.

THAT'S exactly why you don't hear A.I. 'Pimping' Taylor Hicks - he's not making any more $$ for them so the feel 'why should we?' CLARKSON got the same blackballing when SHE had her contract bought out. And from what I hear, Clay Aiken as well. Kinda lets you know something's not on the up-and-up if 3-out-of-5 Idols are jumping ship!

A.I. / 19entertainment / WHOMEVER - they promote who makes $$ for them, whichever artist allows them to make turn them into whatever they need them to be. Taylor not being mentioned or in the limelight was to be expected. For all we know he may or may not show for the finale...who knows if THAT'S been straightened out yet? But it would look pretty bad not to have last year's idol present at the finale, wouldn't it?

Matters not. AI will not live forever but I believe long after that show has folded, Taylor Hicks will STILL be performing - why? Because he's not even ASSOCIATED with Idol anymore. Same goes for Kelly and Clay.

All the ones who are caught on the IDOL puppet strings may find themselves dangling in mid-air with no careers a few years down the road - if IDOL is the only machine behind them.

Being a Brit I could not work out how you Yankees thought that Taylor Hicks had one iota of talent. The guy is a total numpty

i love him though
he is sooooooooooooooo awesome
he talented , beautiful, original,
and each week his cd isn't in the top 20
billboard charts he is being robbed.
(and he is the only one from that season that was robbed)
it is an awesome cd - easily worth twice
what you would pay for it.
get the mal-mart copy it has an incredible bonus track

I had not heard that. I do love to hear him sing and dance, he is a riot.

Super talent, maybe not, fabulous entertainer, Yes and millions agree with me.

I haven't heard that, and I seriously doubt he could afford to do that.
