For the next 2 years, it will be between Howard and Yao Ming. Howard, I beleive, is all around better than Yao. After those 2 years are over, Greg Oden will be the dominant big man. It will take a couple seasons, but he will come around. There is no way to really tell, but Oden has the highest expectations in a long time. And he will deliver.

Well, let's see...Dwight Howard is nothing but dunks and...well pretty much dunks. He only has one move, that little spin baseline, and he has no concept of passing out of or turning away from the double team. Now while his dunks are spectacular he needs a bit more. Yao still has yet to play in a second round post-season game and that's not all McGrady's fault, plus he has no real ability to score while taking real contact, ot to consistently score in the post...or at all in fact. Chris Bosh is the most overrated player in the league, if he wasn't in Canada he'd be likened more to Juwan Howard than Tim Duncan...cause he's pretty much just Juwan Howard...only softer. Didn't anyone see his team get eliminated from the post-season by a team without any kind of post presence...unless you count Mikey Moore as a post presence in which case...stop reading this and go to the knitting section. That leaves Oden...and I have no idea what kind of an NBA player he's gonna be except that I don't think he'll be as good as everyone thinks. I guess if I have to choose one of those three I'd say Howard because he has the least distance to go...but if I get to choose for myself...Amare Stoudemire anyone?

Right now, I would go with Howard. He seems like the best overall player out of all these guys. That's not to say that Bosh or Yao aren't good, because they got game. Let's give Oden a year or two to see where he stands.

Oden, if he's on the right team, could easily develop into the NBA's best big man. Unfortunately, he could be drafted by a team which has nothing else and no clue about what they are doing (i.e. the historic Clippers) and just be buried in nowhereville. Let's say the Bulls sneak into the No. 1 pick via the Knicks; Oden can come in and complement everyone (Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Wallace, Nocioni) while developing into the stud most believe he could be. He would then probably develop into the best big man in the league.

Shaq, in his early years, could be the best big man in the NBA with nothing else to help him; I don't see any of these guys who could do that. None of them are a first option, like young Shaq, Robinson, Ewing, Hakeem, or other traditional centers. The best big man will probably have an equivalent outside player - like Shaq/Kobe/Wade, Stockton/Malone, Magic/Kareem, etc. Its just too early to tell where that matchup will be in five years.

ODEN?...LOL!!! He will be good but not for a while...too slow and not skilled enough to be a huge impact. There are too many other really skilled and athletic big men. I would say HOWARD will be the beast of the bigs in the next 5 years...he has great work ethic and shoots the ball well from the line. YAO will be doing what he is now for about 3 years and then begin to head down hill...he won't get any better. You may have to include AMARE STOUDEMIRE in this discussion.

If Oden make a a hundred% restoration. they are going to be like Ewing and Olajuwan of this era. Oden is a protecting monster and has a super shooting touch. undergo in ideas final interior the call pastime he made Horford and Noah look undesirable and that they've been the two lottery concepts. Howard is an athletic freak and is calling super this year. yet whilst i ought to sign DH or draft bypass, i might bypass with Howard.

I'd personally give it to Howard. In five years Yao's going to be a vet, but also getting old. Howard is already pretty dominant in most games and in 5 he'll have smoothed out some of his game playing quirks.
