I'm not sure if I would call it constipation, but they are not as frequent and tend to be hard.
Anyone who has tried a natural alternative to help regulate their child and was successful?
So far I've tried probiotic acidophilus, fish oil, flax seed oil.
Thanks in advance!

We donot consume white bread( only whole wheat or multi grains) in our home, and I've been increasing her fruit consumption.
Such great ideas already! Thanks!

Alot of people on here are right the best and quickest way is prune juice and/or pear juice.
My little one gets this evry once in a while, and it cleans her out within 24 hours. Keeping prunes part of their diet can help prevent it from coming on as much. Some kids will not eat prunes. In this case pears are the next best thing.
Try mixing the prune juice with their favorite juice, if they dont like it straight. Mine loves it straight, and one of her favorite foods is prunes go figure. lol
Prune juice is what your doctor would reccomend as well.
If the constipation is bad try to give only liquids for 24 hours.
Coconut milk is great too, but they only sell it in cans here and thats not good.
Good luck

One of the best and easiest ways to ease constipation in children, is to give them Apple Juice that has no sugar added, in an undiluted form. I would say start with 8 oz a day and see if this helps. If you don't notice much of an improvement, increase the amount of apple juice you are giving.
Acidophilus really only helps to stabilize the acid levels in the body. It has been confused many times to help with bowels or constipation. It really only helps to break down the food being digested, and stabilize the acid levels. While this alone may help bowels out, it does not correct problems such as constipation.
Fish Oils are really for rebuilding and repairing tissue. They also help with digestion, and aid the body with nutrients.
Flax Seed is mainly used for ulcers, cholesterol and triglyceride reduction and it cleans arteries.
So I understand why you didn't get the results you were after by trying these products.
I hope what I have told you helps.

Forget supplements and spending money on all the stuff you found on the Internet. ADD and ADHD are not cured either with Ritalin or other medication, nor with supplements. The cause of Attention Deficit, Hyperactivity etc. is due to sugar allergy. Remove all sugars from the diet - including all soft drinks, ketchup and other sauces which contains sugar, sweetened yoghurt etc. and much more. You'll have to look at the label each time you buy something, but it's the only way. Be ruthless. Also remove all foods which contain artificial colouring. Just test it: 3 to 4 weeks of this diet and the ADHD person is a new person. Do not reintroduce sugar in the diet before the allergy to sugar has been eliminated with kinesiology. Your boyfriend deserves a good life!

Prune juice. Mix some in in your baby's bottle if they're still drinking a bottle. Otherwise, give them 2-4 ounces. Also, make sure they're getting enough fiber and water.

More water, More fiber....
Also, Magnesium really helps -- it is great and gentle.
Once you get your child cleaned out, keep them that way with TONS of fresh fruits and veggies.
APPLES ARE BETTER THAN APPLE JUICE (apple juice is just the sugar water -- whole apples has the FIBER too)

Either they aren't drinking enough water or they aren't eating enough fiber, or both! Lay off the white bread! It isn't good for anyone! Prune juice and prunes, whole grain breads, fruits and veggies and plenty of water will keep them from having this problem!

Dark Karo Corn Syrup. About 2 tbs in a 8 ounce glass or bottle of milk. Loosens the bowels and tastes sweet too.

I have been this way since birth, that is until I found dried apricots...you can find them in bins at your local supermarket...they're sweet tasting, low fat and the texture is like candy, your child will love them
